The way Data Recovery works

Data Recovery

What should be done in case you have deleted an important report or a document which was necessary for the successful completion of a meeting? If you have would made the similar mistake around 10 year back, then I am afraid that you would not be able to find any reliable solution. But the time has changed significantly. In the modern era there are large numbers of data and the partition recovery software which can help you significantly in order to restore the files and folders back to the system even if you have deleted them accidentally or unintentionally. Now the question arises how does the recover software exactly work? There is no magic hidden in the software which can bring the lost files back in the system. Obviously, it is the technology only which will make him serve this function.

The computer users having the Microsoft Windows operating system installed in the system must be aware of the fact that there is a file system known File Allocation Table (FAT) which is responsible for the storage of data in the drives.

Apart from this, it also tells about the location of the files in the system.  Hence, it can be said that the FAT is very similar to the book having the table of contents or the Index. Now suppose that you are reading the book but you have burnt the content page. Now what, will you be able to read the contents of book now also, the answer is yes. The same is the case with FAT. Even if the files have been deleted from the FAT then also you would be able to get access to the stored data because it is stored in the hard drive. You just need to find the path which can direct you to bring that data back to the system.

How Data Recovery Works?

June 18th, 2010

There is no need to worry about data recovery anymore because you can easily recover data by hiring professionals. Data recovery, in its simple case, usually takes 2 to 3 business days and more if a more complex situation arises such as due to disk failure.

Based on the level of data recovery there are two types of data recovery: Soft and Hard (also known as simple and complex recovery respectively). Soft recovery includes recovering file system damaged due to partition, virus, power failures, conflict with software etc. Recovering simple and common files namely database files, office files, multimedia files, and recovering passwords of operating systems and of other files types are also included in this type of recovery.

Hard recovery includes data lost due to hard disk failures, hardware failure etc.

Data loss is divided into two categories: Physical and logical. Based on these types data is recovered accordingly using different techniques.

Physical damage includes hard disk head crash, too many bad sectors, failed motors, magnetic tapes broken etc. Physical damage also in turn causes logical data i.e. loss of data or damage to file structure. Physical damage usually cannot be repaired by user and thus data recovery by the user is not possible. The reason behind this is that it is most likely that when user opens the hard disk metallic casing, dust will be easily placed (not detected by naked eye) on hard disk platter causes further damage.
