One of the more common advices is to have the hard drive checked. There should be at least 20 to 30 percent of empty space there or even about 500Mb so that the machine can pull things up much faster.

Throughout the life of these personal computers, users like you will be downloading and installing so many software applications that you will only be using once or twice. When you’re done fulfilling your curiosity about the application, the program will be totally forgotten about. Although the users may forget, the file remains in the hard drive, eating up important space.

Uninstalling some of the programs that you don’t use daily or even monthly and those software applications that you have not used for 6 months or so would really create some space in our hard drive. Slow Running Computer– 7 Easy Ways To Speed It Up

July 25th, 2010

When a computer is new it will run at full speed. Exactly how fast it runs depends of course on how it is equipped. If you need a really fast computer you should invest in a high end machine with the very best processor and lots of memory.

Then again your speed for surfing the internet depends entirely on your internet connection speed. Obviously a high speed cable connection is much faster than a dial up.

When your computer seems to gradually run slower over a period of time there can be a number of reasons for this and you can correct the problems fairly easily in most cases.

1. Do you have enough memory in your machine? Anything less than 1 gigabyte of RAM is barely enough these days. If you have less you should upgrade to at least 1 Gigabyte of RAM and 2 or more gigabytes would be better. Same applies to your hard drive. If you download a lot of stuff you should have a big hard drive. A minimum of 100 gigabytes is needed these days.

2. Have you got a lot of programs you never use on your hard drive? Uninstall as many as possible. The extra hard drive space will speed things up especially if you have a small hard drive. Aim to have no more than 50 to 60 percent of your hard drive space in use.

Registry Fix Review – Optimize And Speed Up Your Computer With Ease

July 22nd, 2010

If your computer is running sluggishly and you want to know how to optimize and speed it up, you have come to the right place. We will look at one software called Registry Fix that will allow you to speed up your computer with only one click of a mouse button.

Why Registry Fix software?

Well, most computer performance problem is due to a clogged registry. A registry is a database of Windows operating system. If your computer is running under Windows (be it Windows XP, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Vista), it will have a registry. It’s a place where all the sensitive data/information is stored.

Sensitive data like system configurations, application software configurations, hardware configurations, etc. are all stored in registry. Every time when you add/remove software/hardware in/from your computer, the registry will be updated. Unfortunately, the Windows operating system is very poor in managing and maintaining the registry. For example, when you remove a program from your computer, Windows doesn’t clean up the registry.

Therefore, the registry will get clogged over time. Many invalid entries or remnants are left in the registry which can generate all sorts of unknown system errors (even blue screen) and slow the computer down to a crawl. If used on a regular basis, software like Registry Fix will prevent most of the problems caused by registry.

Here are some of the reasons why so many people like to use Registry Fix….

1. Easy to install.

Why is My Computer Slow? Speed it Up Today For FREE!

July 10th, 2010

There are various causes that can make my computer run slow. Unless the problem is due to hardware deficiency or hardware damage, there are solutions in which I would not need to spend a cent.

So WHY IS MY COMPUTER SLOW? It may be that I have too many files, and I need to free up disk space. There is a list of things that are stored in the computer that may be deleted, as they are no longer of any use. Temporary internet files, for example, and downloaded program files like Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets. The use of files like these have already expired, most probably, and there is no point in keeping them stored in the computer. Another is the files in the recycle bin. These are files that I have deleted in the past – they are stored in the recycle bin, in case I’d need them again – but most probably not, so I’d also delete these. I usually permanently delete files I no longer need. When I say permanently deleting files, it means that the files I delete no longer go to the recycle bin and are completely removed from the memory. To do this I simply select the file to be deleted, and then press the delete button while holding down shift. This way I’ll never need to do the task of emptying my recycle bin.
