Computer Monitors for Sale

July 30th, 2010

Computer monitors have evolved over a period of last five years and are now in the stage of transformation. The traditional CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitors are being replaced by the stylish LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) computer monitors. The former monitors were bulky and did not have flat screens. They were lower on the resolution and had limited contrast levels. The LCD displays have been popular for their clear and crisp viewing and good imaging. The LCD computer monitors also have a UV (Ultra Violet) protection which helps in diminishing the harmful effect of the screen’s radiation.

The CRT computer monitors are still widely available and are used in small offices and companies. They are preferred for their low cost thus reducing the initial investment. The CRT monitors wear out faster than LCD monitors do, as they develop faults in their color tube. The LCD computer monitors have a better viewing than CRT computer monitors. These LCD computer monitors usually in the popular 15-inch, 17-inch and 21-inch viewable screens. The ideal for any home would be the 17-inch monitor as the cost difference between the 15-inch and 17-inch isn’t much and the size isn’t too big to fit in.

What Your Quad Core Computer Can Do For You?

July 30th, 2010

Quad core computer contains four processors and can be considered a part of multi core processors family. There is hardly any doubt that the performance of quad core computer is much faster than that of dual core computers. However, the performance of quad core computer depends upon the type of programs that run and the algorithms used in those programs.

There is a popular misconception that the quad core computer runs four times faster than the single processor computers. It does work, but for programs that are designed to perform on quad core computer. The codes written in those programs allow the processor to accomplish four different tasks simultaneously. Games such as Gears of War or Crysis which require multiple tasks like audio, physics benefit or AI to run simultaneously can be played through the multi-threading processors of quad core computer.

Performance wise quad core computers are faster in multitasking and parallel programming. For instance, multiple virtual machines can be run with four processors. Hardware virtualization, high-end video game playing provision, video and photo editing, audio transcoding, data folding, 3D rendering, voice recognition facility, the options are so many to choose from in quad core computers. You can run virtual studio on XP, work on Photoshop projects on core OSX install or do any other programs in lunux distro. You can also run XP virtual machine on top of XP. You will be able to run the maximum amount of virtual machines that ESX 3 is capable of running. However the number of Virtual machines you run depends on the memory space of your quad core computer.

Remote Computer Repair. is it Safe?

July 30th, 2010

Remote computer repair is still a new idea to many; however it’s been available to you for years now.  Rather than an expensive on-site visit, technicians connect securely to your computer using an advanced screen sharing program.  This in turn, allows you to have your computer fixed right away, and at a lower cost due to the lower amount of overhead costs to the companies.  But is it really safe?

The short answer is yes.  Let me explain why…  First, you remain with your computer at all times.  When you drop your computer off at the store, you will be asked to return in a week or whenever they finish it.  During this time, who knows if anyone is reading or copying your files?  Can you be sure they haven’t taken or switched some piece of hardware?  Will they even do anything to it before recommending you purchase their new model on isle 9?  When having your computer repaired remotely, you’ll be able to watch the repair taking place as it is happening.  Your tech should be available for questions through a chat window or the phone if you need him, however no one will know if you are watching or not thus ensuring the techs integrity.  Ask your local super store geek if you can sit and watch them fix the computer and see what they say.

The Technical Risk of Employing a New Processor Technology Can Often Deter a Design Group

July 30th, 2010

Shrinking product development cycles coupled with demanding product requirements and increasingly complex design implementations can overwhelm a design team. The technical risk of employing new, complex, high-speed processor technology can often deter a design group from incorporating new technology in their product designs.

Intel Corporation’s ATOM processor and low power chipset solution is a technology choice which cannot be overlooked. With the potential for wide application in deeply embedded, low power, fanless industrial, medical, communications, automotive and consumer applications this technology demands attention.

Orchid Technologies, a developer of custom electronics product solutions, can help. With their new ATOM processor technology core design, that combines your custom electronic hardware with an ATOM processor core. The result is a highly integrated circuit board solution customized for your applications needs.

“The development time and risk are low, because Orchid has done much of these designs before,” says Paul Nickelsberg, President and Senior Engineer of Orchid. “Your custom design builds on our firm foundation of design success.” “Orchid has designed many highly customized Intel-processor-based (IA32) circuit boards.”

A typical Orchid Technologies’ client in the fanless industrial space may require customized GPIO; perhaps special data logging features: possibly specialized precision analog electronics; or maybe the integration of a specialized DSP front end. Orchid Technologies can skillfully combine clients’ specialized electronic circuitry with our existing ATOM core design to create a cost-effective, highly integrated, design solution. Add Orchid’s ability to customize BIOS to the mix and the result is an optimized IA32 solution tuned specifically to client needs.

Is Your Computer Freezing Up? Learn What the Problem is Today For FREE!

July 30th, 2010

It’s easy to take advantage of an unwitting computer newbie who’s panicking about his/her computer freezing up. While reading this article, you’ll realize that diagnosing the cause of your computer freezing up should not cost you more money if you know the basic areas to troubleshoot. With the gargantuan volume of how-to articles invading the internet, there is no excuse on why you should not be able to carry out this task on your own. Below are some helpful and simplified guidelines for the computer beginner who wants to solve his/her computer freezing up problem once and for all.

Maybe it’s a viral infection

Computers do get sick, especially if you’re a frequent user of the Internet. The Internet is a wonderful venue for all sorts of information, but unless your computer system is armed with anti-virus software, visiting internet pages without one could put your system at a high risk of crashing down.

Most people who complain about computer freezing up problems usually have OS who are infected with virus. These infections cause your components to malfunction, and oftentimes, they even attack and corrupt your data directly.

This can be avoided by turning on your anti-virus software whenever you’re exploring the internet. You should also scan your hard disks for viral infection every time you reboot. Once you’ve spotted a suspicious looking virus, don’t think twice about putting it on quarantine of deleting it once you’re sure the it is a virus.
